Spinning & Knitting Teacher, from Beginners to Handy Hints, 2 hour, 1 hour or 1/2 hour classes Days, Eve or Weekends.
Learning by yourself? Having problems? Is it you or the wheel that is out of proper adjustment? Once your hands are drafting well, is your Plying of the yarn together giving you problems? The object of the Handy Hints classes is for someone that is beyond the beginners level. Beginners classes are 4 weeks, 2 hours each time. With 2 free support classes as needed. Handy Hints class times are usually 1/2 hour, 1 hour, or are as needed.
I teach on the Drop Spindle and or your Wheel or my modern Wheel. Also included in the class are how to use the Hand Cards and the Drum Carder. I prefer that you learn a lot about all of the wheels and equipment on the market, before you make a purchase of one. There are decisions to make about the Wheel of your choice. It is a sizeable investment, you want to purchase a Wheel that will do all the things that you want to do in the future, without outgrowing it in 6 months. Included in the cost of the beginners class, is one pound of soft sheep wool roving, a book all about Spinning and the Turkish Drop Spindle. You will spin on Sheep wool, Alpaca and a mix of both..
