Wool Hand Warmers

Alpaca Hand Warmers

These make wonderful gifts, whether in the form of finished ready to wear, or as a kit to make yourself or give to a knitter friend.

Some ladies wear them at work as their hands get cold working on the computers, the thumbless are popular for this. My 92 year old Aunt loves hers with the thumb on, as her hands are always so cold. The elderly would appreciate them any time of the year.

I use fingering Weight for all of my Hand Warmers. These patterns are for that size yarn and the kits contain that size yarn.

This pattern can be used for fine weight Hand Spun yarn. A good way to use up left over fingering weight sock yarn. Needs only 135 yards. for all sizes. I use a #2 for fingering weight. I use #3 for Alpaca wool mix or Hand Spun fine yarn. They need to bloom.

Alpaca is 80% with 20% soft Merino Wool. Hand wash cool, Air dry. Natural and Dyed colors available. Some with Mohair.
Washable Merino Soft Wool , Dryer safe on Cool setting. With or without thumb.
Patterns have 3 different designs.
Mens one size fits all. Kids small (5-7year old) and medium(8-10year old) Ladies, one size for alll. Tall persons, add 1/2 extra inch in length.
Kits contains enough yarn to make one pair, any size, with complete instructions, that a beginning knitter can follow easily.

I start my two at a time on the DPN's for 4 rows, then switch to the 2 Circulars. If there is a mistake, only remove the one for correction onto the DPN, make the correctioin, then back onto the circular again. Two at a time on two circulars for socks or handwarmers is much easier than the one 47 inch majic loop way. I am a lazy knitter, I do the sock Heel gusset section or the Thumbless area on the handwarmers on DPN's, then back onto the Two circulars.
